Theresa Anna Furlong McCarthy, 79, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Candler Hospital.
Mrs. McCarthy was a native and lifelong resident of Savannah. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Vincent's Academy and was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church for forty-seven years.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Norman J. McCarthy of Savannah; two daughters and one son –in-law, Peggy McCarthy and Terri and Michael Davis; three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel J. and Lana McCarthy, Michael J. and Lisa McCarthy and Patrick J. and Miriam McCarthy; one sister, Agnes F. Swinson Curtis; twelve grandchildren, Juliette Hurst Jarrard, Jennifer Hurst, Matthew McCarthy, Kevin J. McCarthy, Mary Alice McCarthy, Justin McCarthy, Jeremy McCarthy, Joseph McCarthy, Lauren McCarthy, John Patrick McCarthy, Mary Grace McCarthy, and Tyler Davis all of Savannah; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008 with a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in Catholic Cemetery.
